More than 1,100 students engaged with UCLA Library staff during True Bruin Welcome, which occurs at the start of every fall quarter.
This year’s event was especially important. First year and new transfer students were welcomed to campus as usual, but Westwood also saw the arrival of second year and transfer students who had spent their first year learning remotely.
In front of Charles R. Young Research Library, Powell Library, and in the Court of Sciences, librarians and other staff answered questions, distributed handouts, and passed out free gifts to help students through the quarter ahead.
From Powell’s classic reading room to YRL’s research commons to the Science and Engineering Library’s newly refurbished space, students enthusiastically reentered the library to get back to the business of in-person learning.
