Biography
Mohsin Ali is the instructional design and outreach specialist for the Humanities and Social Sciences department of the Eugene and Maxine Rosenfeld Management Library and the Charles E. Young Research Library. He also serves as as a learner-designer on the Writing Instruction and Research Education (WI+RE) team. Before joining the UCLA Library, he taught in the Global Islam Writing Cluster. He obtained his PhD in Islamic Studies from UCLA in 2022. His doctoral dissertation was a global history of modern Muslim historical writing. It focused on the approaches of Muslim scholars in colonial and post-colonial India who wrote in Arabic and Urdu.
Mohsin enjoys playing basketball, hiking and spending time with family.
