Khorshid Metghalchi Endowment for Iranian Studies
This generous donation will allow the UCLA Library to expand its collection of Iranian materials.
Fereshteh Diba, is a former member of the UCLA Library Board of Visitors and a current member of our Centennial Campaign Committee. She established the Khorshid Metghalchi Endowment for Iranian Studies to honor her mother. The endowment supports the acquisition and processing of books in the area of Iranian studies. Khorshid Metghalchi lives in London, while her children and grandchildren are spread across two continents, Europe and North America. Ms. Diba came to the United States to study economics and received her PhD from the University of Oklahoma, where she met her husband, Khossrow. Together they own a chemical engineering firm based in Texas. Their daughter, Roxana, received her undergraduate degree at UCLA before heading off to medical school. Their son is an attorney in Washington, DC. In addition to her support of the Library, Ms. Diba is closely affiliated with UCLA through the department of Near Eastern languages and cultures. She also serves on the board of the Women & Philanthropy program at UCLA. Ms. Diba and her family are strong advocates of education and chose to support both programming and library resources in the area of Iranian studies.
