Leon and Barbara Rootenberg Collection Endowment for the Study of Music and the Brain

In addition their initial Library endowment, the couple combined Mr. Rootenberg's love of music and Mrs. Rootenberg's interest in historical medicine in the Leon and Barbara Rootenberg Collection Endowment for the Study of Music and the Brain, which explores the complex and creative relationship between the brain and music, memory and music, and music therapy. Materials purchased through this fund allow current and future students, faculty and scholars at UCLA and around the world access to crucial information for their studies and research.
