Thomas Gill Cary Library Fund
This endowment honors Thomas Gill Cary by providing resources for the cognitive sciences and artificial intelligence at UCLA Library.
This endowment was established in 1965 with a generous bequest from Gladys Gill Cary in memory of her son, Thomas. Mr. Cary died some years earlier in Korea, at a time when he had been a graduate student at UCLA working on his doctorate and doing special research work in the UCLA Samueli School of Engineering; his major field of interest was industrial psychology. The Thomas Gill Cary Library Fund currently enables the Louise M. Darling Biomedical Library to subscribe to several important journals and to purchase books in the cognitive sciences, while the Science and Engineering Library has acquired materials in the areas of artificial intelligence and human-computer interaction with income from this endowment.
