Overview
UCLA Library complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Staff working in public service areas of campus libraries will make every effort to accommodate requests from users with disabilities. Locating Materials
Staff will assist users with disabilities in accessing any resource that is inaccessible. Please speak with circulation desk staff if you need assistance.
Retrieving Materials
Library staff can help users with disabilities access library stacks. Staffing and workload limitations may affect the number of items we can retrieve per day. When materials cannot be paged immediately, staff will have the material ready the next work day.
Accessible carts are available in the following libraries:
- Louise M. Darling Biomedical Library
- Music Library
- Charles E. Young Research Library
- Science and Engineering Library
Please ask for a cart at the circulation desks in these libraries.
Proxy Borrower Card
Users may allow an individual to borrow books in their name for no extra charge. That individual will be issued a proxy borrower card. Please ask staff at either the Biomedical, Powell or Young Research Libraries for more information.
Photocopying Materials
Staff can make photocopies of materials for users with disabilities. Please bring the materials to be copied to any circulation desk, along with a BruinCard that has enough money to pay for the copies. We do not accept cash. When staff are not available to make copies, you can leave the material and your BruinCard and pick up your copies the next work day. All copying must be in compliance with U.S. copyright law.
